How to Grow Your Small Business from a Just You to Having Multiple Employees

Small Business

It can be a scary, exciting, and even exhilarating feeling when your small work-from-home business has outgrown your existing office space and requires bigger premises.

Feeding the money machine and keeping the momentum going is something that should be a continuous action.

You may find that hunting for that perfect solution for your growing business has to be carried out within a limited time period. That said, you may find that there are some perfectly good solutions at your fingertips.

 1. Additional office space

As you are adding multiple new employees to work for your business, it is likely that you are going to require additional office space. Renting new office space can be a daunting prospect.

There is most certainly going to be excitement but also stress and tension over increased outgoings, which in some cases could be an unknown amount.

However, there are ways in which you can rent larger office areas and know the costs upfront. This is because some businesses rent private offices that can be used as a short-term solution.

Renting these offices and paying an all-inclusive monthly cost will help you budget as well as provide you with all of the facilities that your business will require.

2. Extra storage

If you are in the eCommerce business, then to grow your business, you are going to require additional stock. This, in turn, will require more storage, but before you jump for a full-blown warehouse, you may find it useful and more cost-effective to take advantage of dedicated storage facilities.

Storage containers are available in a vast array of sizes, and there are plenty of different storage companies to choose from. Most will house the storage units on their site, so you will need to make sure that the facility in question is relatively close to your business operation.

However, there are storage companies that will hire their storage units differently. These companies will bring the storage container to a location of your choice.

You will be able to store and use it until you either require it to move to another specified location or are no longer in need of it, whereby they will take it away for you.

3. Embracing alternative working arrangements

If your business is growing so fast that you are having difficulty keeping up with the growing numbers of staff, then perhaps you need to embrace other working alternatives. Hybrid working can be a perfect solution, especially when combined with the additional office space mentioned above.

This is because it will allow you to keep your offices relatively small and therefore also your expenses while allowing each and every one of your employees to use your premises on a rota basis.

However, to get this to work smoothly, you will have to organize and delegate desks to staff members to make sure that everyone has a place to work and that no desk is double booked.
